Well, it's only been two month's. In that time I have left Iraq and returned after seeing my father through some surgery which he aced. (Way to go Dad!)

The main entry in the Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary for the definition of friend is: one attached to another by affection or esteem. This is the most base line definition of the word that I have ever read, but it certainly technically covers it all.

Here is Bleu's definition of the word friend:

A person who, no matter what external forces arise, is unconditionally committed to maintaining a loving connection with another person out of their sheer desire to do so.



Is this too far off? hmmm... I guess I could be way off base. Maybe I am.

It is a little known fact that in the general region of Ramadiyah or Ar Ramadi, situated about 70 miles, or 110 kilometers, west of Baghdad on the Euphrates River which designates the south-west point of the "Sunni Triangle" by which the alluvial Plain forms a quarter of Iraq's area [about 132,000 sq. km], there is no dating. It can't be done. It is a savage black hole of dating.

This is a view of Ramadi from the edge of our camp. Yes, those are little Iraqi row houses. Not Levittown, but hey, I guess it works for them.

I know, I know it's been about... what now a fortnight since I have blogged last - I am sure the bulk of you have lost interest, BUT... I have been dealing with crap like the above picture.
